Employment

Yahoo!B Yahoo!.

Starting July of 2003 I'm now working for Yahoo. The company is amazing! I work as a software developer in the platform infrastructure build software to keep the systems happy and the developers productive. I've only been here a short while, but it's clearly a great place to be! In a humorous turn of events, Yahoo! acquired Inktomi, so I am now working at the same company I left back in 2002.

Digital Impact Digital Impact.

Following my 9 month vacation, I joined Digital Impact as a toolsmith. After 3 years in management, it was a welcome change! DI was a great opportunity to get my hands dirty again, and to pick up a number of new skills! DI is an out source mail provider for compaines like Gap, Victoria's Secret, and Priceline Travel, and I developed automation and monitoring software to support the production operation.

Inktomi Inktomi.

From August of 1998 to April of 2002, I've worked Inktomi. The company was fantastic. I was involved with pretty much every branch of the company (even some which do not exist there any more; ). Currently I am the Director of Technology Infrastructure (Network, Security, and Architecture). It's a great gig. Check out my resume for more details.

Geoworks Geoworks

In my previous job I worked for Geoworks, the industry leader in providing operating systems and application software for the next generation of "Smart Phones". I was the Webmaster, and Database Administrator there. The work was varied and interesting and the people are brilliant, so I enjoyed it very much. Before I was Webmaster, I worked in the Developer Relations Department, which meant that I provided training and support to developers who are developing applications for the GEOS operation system. This was a great opportunity which allowed me to travel all over the world. After spending the better part of a month doing on-site support for NEC in Japan, I tought 1 week programming courses is France, Germany, Hungary, and Finland. Too much time on the road after a while, but a ton of fun.

LBL LBL

When I was still in college, I worked part time at the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory for Engineering Division Technical Resources as a system administrator. My web page is still there.

SCE SCE

During my summer and winter breaks in college I worked for Southern California Edison at the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station. I did computer work for the plant, and have had the opportunity to actually look inside the reactor. It was a great experience.
